FAQs

  • Reiki is not a massage.
However, like a massage, Reiki can be deeply relaxing. It differs in that it does not involve firm pressure or the manipulation of muscles and joints. Reiki works with energy rather than physical anatomy, and is given with hands gently placed on the body or hovering just above.

  • People seek Reiki for many reasons—stress, anxiety, low energy, difficulty sleeping, or simply feeling emotionally stuck.
It can support general wellbeing and offer clarity when you're feeling good, too. Reiki is a beautiful way to reconnect with yourself and create space to move forward.

  • Reiki can promote both physical and emotional healing.
Most people experience a sense of deep relaxation, emotional balance, and clarity. Physically, it may relieve tension, improve sleep, ease anxiety, and restore energy levels.
    Everyone’s experience is unique.

  • Sessions run for 60 minutes.
We’ll begin with a conversation about how you’re feeling and what you’d like to gain from the session. You’ll remain fully clothed and relax lying down or seated in a calm, supportive space.
A short guided meditation helps quiet the mind, and then I begin the Reiki—gently placing my hands where energy or tension is present. I also incorporate sound healing with crystal singing bowls to deepen the relaxation.
Afterward, you're welcome to share your experience, ask questions, or simply float away feeling grounded and renewed.

  • Everyone’s experience is different.
You may feel deeply relaxed, energised, lighter, or emotionally clear.
Some people experience a gentle release or emotional shift in the days following. It’s important to drink water and take care of yourself after your session—listen to your body and rest if needed.

  • A single session can be powerful.
If you're working through something deeper, I recommend three or more sessions to allow space for lasting shifts.
Like any healing practice, consistency can create deeper and more sustainable benefits. Many people find regular sessions a beautiful way to maintain balance and self-care.

  • Just yourself—in comfortable clothes and with an open mind.
Everything else is taken care of.

  • Yes, Reiki is extremely safe and gentle.
You are in full control of your session and how deep you'd like to go. Reiki can be practiced alongside medication and other therapies, and is especially supportive when recovering from illness or navigating emotional stress.
It is a complementary therapy—not a substitute for medical treatment.

  • Yes, Reiki is gentle and safe during pregnancy.
It can help reduce stress and support emotional and physical balance—for both you and your baby. Depending on where you are in your pregnancy, we’ll find a comfortable position, whether seated or lying down, and you’re welcome to stretch or move gently throughout the session.

  • Absolutely.
Reiki is often described as “deep rest for your mind and body” and can be a beautiful introduction to mindfulness. You don’t need to be spiritual or experienced in meditation to benefit—just open to receiving.
